The road trip that included a visit to the wonderful Oh Sew Good Fabrics

If you opened my recent email you will have seen that I recently visited Oh Sew Good Fabrics. I had chatted briefly with Natalie online in the bag makers Facebook group , so as I was near her on Saturday after visiting my friend I popped in for a cuppa, chat and a bit of fabric shopping on my way home.

What a lovely unit she has, makes a great cup of tea and has a fab selection of fabric. I am suppose to be on a fabric ban until I work my way through some of the fabric I have had for years. I am pleased to say I failed and I bought some lovely wool.

Natalie not only provided some lovely fabrics and haberdashery handmade clothes but she also offers sewing lessons and does some fantastic things with embroidery.

If you are in the area and looking for fabrics, haberdashery or sewing lessons, Natalie is definitely your go to person and a visit to Oh Sew Good Fabrics is well worth a visit.

Oh and I haven't even told you about her amazing coat, when I saw it I knew I needed some of this amazing wool. Look at her stunning shirt too made using designer fabrics which she stocks in her store.

These are the lovely wool I bought as well as some denim which I have recently used in a pattern testing project more on that in a few weeks.

You will see I had to buy some of the wool that Natalie had used to make her coat and I had recently bought the Skye pattern by Lavender and Twine and I knew I had to bring it to life. It must be one of the quickest turnarounds from purchase to finished bag and I am so pleased with how it has come out.

Let me know what you think of the finished bag, it is up for sale on the website. All the interfacings and bag making supplies are from my website.

All in all a lovely afternoon was had and I will definitely be returning on my next visit to see my friend.

Until next time

Happy Sewing

Deb xx
