I bought product from this lovely lady online and her service was second to none. I then came across her site and found the sewing Sundays and went along. I was made so very welcome and Deb has created a lovely day with great people and I always come away with loads of inspiration. If you haven't experienced this site, I urgent you to do so.

What can I expect at The Bag Makers Sew-Ciety Sewcial ran by Deb from Me Made Makes?
The monthly sewcials are really informal and are a lovely way to get together and share our joint love of sewing. While the sewcial was primarily set up as a bag making sewing group we have people who come who enjoy dress making, quilting, hand sewing, knitting etc etc everyone is welcome. You simply bring your current project with you and enjoy the atmosphere. Tea, coffee and cake is provided at each monthly sewcial, if you want to bring your lunch to have during the day that is fine. Its a lovely way to make some new sewing friends and enjoy your favourite past time in the company of others.
There is cutting and pressing stations for you to use and I always bring my fabrics and thread scraps box for anyone attending the sewcial to use if they need to.
How often are the sewcials ran, where are they held and are the Sewcials accessible?
The sewcials are held once a month usually around the 3rd Sunday in each month but they can vary depending on other commitments. The dates for the year ahead can be found above and all bookings are made and paid for through the website. The monthly sewcials are all held at Penshaw Masonic Hall DH4 7LQ, there is ample free parking and the hall is easily accessible from Sunderland, Durham, and Newcastle.
The Hall is all on one level, there are no stairs into the building or into the Sewcial room and the bathrooms are all accessible. If you have any queries if the sewcial is accessible to you please get in touch I am happy to discuss and ensure the sewcial meet your needs.
Do I need to book or can I just turn up for the Sewcials?
The sewcials are a bookable event as the space is set up before people arrive, please book in advance, booking closes 24 hours before the event starts or once all spaces are full. I do limit spaces so that the sewcial is friendly and welcoming to all, I do not want anyone to feel intimidated or overwhelmed so the Sewcials are capped at 12 spaces once they are booked the event is full.
